16th/17th Century Hangers

The design for these hangers comes from a number of 16th and 17th century illustrations and surviving examples notably a surviving leather hanger in the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds. They have cast bronze fittings and are made from vegetable tanned calf and cattle hide that is stitched and dyed by hand using period dyes. The hanger body is 10 1/2 inches (27 cms) long and 8 inches (21 cms) wide. The belt is 3/4 inches wide (2 cms).
