Leather Cases
The design of these cases is take from a number of surviving examples found in museums. The body of the case is stitched, soaked in water and then moulded around a wooden former. Once dry they are covered in thin goat or calf skin. This makes a case that is quite water proof and strong enough to protect the contents.
